    KAILUA-KONA, HI — The passionate and dedicated fundraising efforts of Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union’s staff and members from its Hilo, Kohala and Honokaa branches brought in $9,702 for American Cancer Society’s Hilo “Relay for Life” event.  The monies were raised through in-branch ribbon sales, internal staff donations and fundraisers, as well as selling shave ice during the live event.  ...read more

    HONOLULU – Gov. David Ige extended the disaster emergency relief period for homelessness across the state today, by issuing a fourth supplementary proclamation.   The emergency proclamation helps to accelerate the completion of housing projects for individuals and families who are transitioning out of homelessness, and it expands shelter capacity and access to services.   Gov.     On March 15, 2019, the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce invited the Hawaiʻi County Leadership to a luncheon focused on connecting the business community to the County.
