CU Hawaii Opens More Possibilities Scholarship Program 2026
CU Hawai‘i is proud to celebrate our island’s 2026 high school seniors and current college students by creating MORE POSSIBILITIES for their academic future with $25,000 in scholarships!
They are awarding:
Six (6) scholarships for Hawai‘i Island Class of 2026 public or private high school graduates
Four (4) scholarships for undergraduates who graduated from a Hawai‘i Island high school or currently live on Hawai‘i Island and attend a local accredited 2-year, 4-year, trade, or vocational school
Each recipient will receive $2,500 to help further their education and create MORE POSSIBILITIES for their future.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a Hawai‘i Island high school senior graduating in the 2025–26 school year OR an undergraduate who graduated from a Hawai‘i Island high school or currently resides on Hawai‘i Island and attends an accredited 2-year, 4-year, trade, or vocational school on the island.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Submit a statement of financial need.
- Be enrolled full-time for Fall 2026 at an accredited U.S. institution listed on the U.S. Department of Education website.

- Current transcript (unofficial accepted)
- Undergraduate applicants: Copy of high school diploma or equivalent
- Letter(s) of recommendation
- Resume
- Essay (250–500 words, single-spaced, 12 pt font):
- Prompt:What do you need to achieve your academic goals? How will you use your education/training to contribute to the Hawai‘i Island community?
- Statement of Financial Need (200–500 words, single-spaced, 12 pt font)
- Short Answer Questionnaire (max 150 words per response)
