    August 06, 2026
KAILUA-KONA, HI – Hawai‘i Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) is pleased to announce the promotion of Rose Kagawa to Loan Manager.

Kagawa brings more than 20 years of experience in lending, real estate transactions, and financial services to her new role. Since joining HCFCU in 2014, she has held several positions throughout the organization, steadily expanding her leadership responsibilities and expertise in lending operations.

Kagawa began her HCFCU career as a Loan Officer at the Kailua Branch before transferring to the Loan Center, where she specialized in originating, processing, and underwriting mortgage loans. In 2018, she was promoted to Branch Manager of the Kaloko Branch, overseeing daily operations and leading a team of employees while helping drive growth in deposits, loans, and membership. Most recently, she served as Administrative Loan Officer, supporting lending operations and strategic initiatives across the credit union.

In her new role as Loan Manager, Kagawa will oversee HCFCU's lending team and loan operations, helping ensure members receive exceptional service and access to financial solutions that support their goals. She will also work closely with staff to maintain efficient lending processes, regulatory compliance, and continued growth within the credit union's loan portfolio.

Prior to joining HCFCU, Kagawa spent more than 12 years as an Escrow Officer with Title Guaranty Escrow Services in Kona. Her experience coordinating real estate transactions, working with lenders and title companies, and guiding clients through the closing process provided a strong foundation for her career in financial services.

Kagawa is a graduate of Konawaena High School and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii at Hilo, with an emphasis in Marketing and Management. She and her husband, Lee, are proud parents of two sons, both graduates of Kealakehe High School.

Outside of work, Kagawa enjoys spending time with her husband, whether accompanying him on shoreline fishing trips or taking golf lessons together on the weekends. Kagawa volunteers with junior golf programs and values opportunities to stay connected to the community she serves.

“Rose has been an invaluable member of our team for more than a decade,” said Tricia Buskirk, President and CEO of HCFCU. “Her lending expertise, dedication to our members, and deep understanding of our organization make her exceptionally qualified for this role. We are excited to see her lead our lending team and help support the financial goals of our members.”
