Kona Brewing Hawaii Announces Renovations to Historic Kona Pub

Improvements to Kona Brewing’s historic Kailua-Kona Pub will enhance the guest experience while honoring more than 30 years of Liquid Aloha.

KAILUA-KONA, HAWAIʻI — June 2026 — Kona Brewing Hawaiʻi is pleased to announce a series of renovations to its iconic Kona Pub in Kailua-Kona, the original home of Liquid Aloha and a gathering place for residents and visitors alike for more than three decades.

Construction is scheduled to begin the week of June 22 this summer, with improvements focused on enhancing the guest experience, improving operational efficiency, and reflecting the evolution of Kona Brewing Hawaiʻi as an independent, locally based brewery proudly rooted in the islands.

The renovation project will introduce several new features and enhancements, including:
● A new outdoor beer garden serviced by an updated Growler Shack
● A refreshed retail shopping experience featuring rotating merchandise and gifts
● A new host stand and more clearly defined guest entrance
● Improved flow and functionality throughout the front-of-house experience

While the space will receive a modern refresh, preserving the character and community spirit of the Kona Pub remains a top priority.

Importantly, the Kona Pub will remain fully open throughout the renovation process. All construction activities will be scheduled during non-operating hours to minimize impacts on guests and ensure an uninterrupted dining experience.
