KAILUA-KONA, HAWAIʻI — Fair Wind Cruises is celebrating 55 years on the Kona Coast with a special anniversary celebration at Keauhou Bay on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
Owners Puhi, Mendy, Alex, Jenn, and Zac Dant invite the community to join Fair Wind for a day of celebration featuring live entertainment, raffle drawings, and special $5 cruises aboard Fair Wind II and Hula Kai.
Founded in 1971, Fair Wind Cruises has been sharing the waters and coastline of West Hawaiʻi with generations of residents and visitors for more than five decades. The 55th anniversary celebration is an opportunity to bring together the community, past and present crew members, longtime guests, friends, and families to celebrate the people and place that have been part of Fair Wind’s story.
“We’re incredibly grateful to have been part of this community for 55 years,” said Mendy, President at Fair Wind Cruises. “So many people have been part of Fair Wind’s journey — our crew, our guests, our community and generations of families who have joined us on the water. We wanted this celebration to be a chance to bring everyone together and say mahalo.”
Throughout the event, Fair Wind will offer special anniversary cruises from Keauhou Bay for just $5 per person. Fair Wind II will offer approximately one-hour cruises with time for swimming and fun on the vessel’s waterslides and high dive. Hula Kai will offer approximately 45-minute historical cruises, sharing stories of Keauhou and the surrounding coastline. The special cruises offer two different ways to get out on the water and be part of the 55th anniversary celebration.
A portion of the proceeds from the anniversary cruises will be donated to Ho‘āla Kealakekua Nui, supporting the organization’s work to care for Kealakekua Bay and its natural and cultural resources.
The festivities will also include live entertainment and raffle drawings throughout the day.

Reservations for the $5 anniversary cruises can be made by calling the Fair Wind Reservations
Department at (808) 322-2788. Limited walk-up availability will also be offered on the day of the
event. To give as many people as possible an opportunity to participate, guests are encouraged
to reserve one Fair Wind II or Hula Kai anniversary cruise per person.
