The 2023 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship

The 2023 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship is thrilled to host the first-ever women’s-only race day in Kailua-Kona October 14, 2023, with the men returning to Pacific shores in 2024. Under the event theme of Holomua – move forward – we will witness the continued evolution of IRONMAN World Championship racing, and incredible feats of athleticism, triumph and sports-person-ship.

The event will host approximately 2,200 female athletes as they embark on a 140.6-mile journey that represents the ultimate test of body, mind, and spirit to earn the title of IRONMAN World Champion.

We invite the community of Hawai`i to be a part of this evolutionary event – participate in our race week events including fun run, endurance swim and kids races, volunteer for one of many race week roles in support of the athletes, or come down and cheer on October 14 and witness the professional triathletes and amateurs break limits, forge new paths, and Holomua, under the watchful eyes of a global broadcast, and passionate fans both near and afar.

Community Race Week Events

Kona Town Fun Run 5k Hale Halawai Saturday, October 7 · 7:00 am   A family friendly 5k fun run on Ali’i Drive. Finishers receive a commemorative medal.   Registration is open to ages 10+.   Click here for registration and information HO’ALA IRONMAN Training Swim 2.4 miles Kamakahonu Beach Sunday, October 8 · 7:00 am   An opportunity for people to swim the official VinFast IRONMAN World Championship course fully supported. Keiki DIP-N-DASH Ka’ahumanu Place Tuesday, October 10 · 4:00pm   .25mile run .9mile run 150 yd swim/.9mile run   11th annual Keiki DIP N-DASH. Join in and cheer on the future champions of IRONMAN!   Registration is open to keiki ages 6 to 14 yrs old.   Click here to register Parade of Nations   King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort to Hale Halawai   Tuesday, October 10 · 5:00pm     Athletes from over 73 counties showcase their national pride, lead by IRONMAN legends, dignitaries, and local entertainment parade along Ali’i Drive.   The public is invited to come and join the celebration.
