Inspired by National Good Neighbor Day,
Vibrant Hawai‘i is inviting individuals and community groups to participate in
#VibeHI Day, a grassroots movement to create connected and vibrant communities across Hawaiʻi Island.
Vibrant Hawai‘i is offering
mini-grants of $50 to $100 to support small, meaningful projects - whether it's hosting a neighborhood gathering, sharing a meal or local produce, coordinating a neighborhood clean-up, or hosting a space for conversation and creativity, #VibeHI Day celebrates the many ways people can connect and care for one another.
Example projects include:
- Dropping off goodie bags with emergency supplies to neighbors
- Bringing dinner to a kūpuna or a single mom in your neighborhood
- Creating a “Little Free Aloha Library” to share books, seeds, or produce
- Organizing neighborhood clean-ups or youth-led service activities

To participate, applicants must complete a short application by
Friday, September 5th at
bit.ly/VH-VibeHI. Mini-grants will be awarded on a
first come, first served basis. All funded projects must be implemented on #VibeHI Day,
Sunday, September 28, 2025.
Participants are encouraged to document their projects and share on social media by tagging
@VibrantHawaii and using the hashtag
#VibeHI to contribute to a collective island-wide story of community care and aloha in action.
For those unable to participate directly, donations are welcomed to help fund additional mini-grants. Contributions ensure more neighbors have the opportunity to engage and connect, supporting Vibrant Hawai‘i’s mission of building a resilient, equitable, and connected Hawai‘i Island. Vibrant Hawaiʻi is a 501 (c)3 and all donations are tax deductible.
