Street Eats, A Kailua Village Food Truck Festival Returns on Saturday, June 8

Historic Kailua Village—The Kailua Village Business Improvement District (
KVBID) rolls out another Street Eats Food Truck Festival during King Kamehameha Day Festivities on Saturday, June 8. Street Eats is offering a wide variety of cuisine options from food trucks, food vendors, and restaurant pop-ups from around Hawaii Island.
Alii Drive will close to vehicle traffic as food trucks and food vendors line up in Historic Kailua Village from 12 noon to 6:00 pm.
Created and managed by the Kailua Village Business Improvement District
, this one-of-a-kind event takes over Alii Drive with wafting aromas of savory goodness from
food trucks, food carts, and local restaurant pop-ups, offering multiple ono lunchtime and early dinner options to satisfy the cravings of community residents and visitors.
An array of seating options will be scattered throughout the Village including interesting places that give locals and visitors a place to sit, eat great food, and enjoy the seaside.
Free Hawaiian Music Complements The Day
Enjoy live entertainment and hula performances too throughout the day in the heart of the Village at Emma's Square. Starting at 1:30 pm Kumu Hula Chrissy Henriques and Halau e Hulalai Mai I Ka La will perform center stage.
Twelve-time Na Hoku Hanohano award winner Kainani Kahaunaele takes the stage at 4 pm to perform her collection of Hawaiian mele (songs).
In addition to the Street Eats Food Truck Festival event, visitors, and residents are encouraged to support Hulihee Palace’s Hoolaulea and the wide variety of great restaurants throughout Historic Kailua Village.

King Kamehameha Day Festivities
Don’t miss the King Kamehameha Day Festivities. Saturday, June 8 starts with the Annual King Kamehameha Day Parade along Alii Drive. Regal pau riders on horseback will represent each of the eight islands, led by their respective princesses and the pau queen. The floral parade will also feature hula halau, equestrian units, marching bands, and much more. The parade begins at 9 am. Come early and reserve your favorite spot. Immediately after the parade, enjoy a Hoolaulea Music and Art Festival at Hulihee Palace from 11 am to 3 pm. Local vendors, artisans, and food vendors too will be in attendance. The Hoolaulea is a must-visit event on Saturday, June 8.
