• Second Booster Available at QNHCH

    March 31, 2022
KAMUELA, HI – Queen’s North Hawai’i Community Hospital is now offering a second COVID-19 booster shot to those over age 50 who received their first booster shot at least four months ago.

Following the most recent guidance from the CDC regarding COVID-19 booster shots, people who received their first booster shot of any approved COVID-19 vaccine at least four months ago may receive a second booster shot of an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) if they are over the age of 50. In addition, those 12 or older with compromised immune systems continue to be eligible for the second booster shot.

Additional booster shots allow people in these select populations to get extra protection against severe illness. A second booster can be especially beneficial for people 65 and older and those 50 and older with underlying medical conditions

Starting in April, the QNHCH Vaccination Clinic is open for walk-ins every Wednesday, 11 am – 3 pm. The QNHCH COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic is located in the annex on the south side of hospital campus near emergency room. Vaccinations are available for all ages 5 years and up; no appointment is required. Those under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
