• Resort association aims to build bridges

    As the administrative director of the Kohala Coast Resort Association, Stephanie Donoho works to build bridges between the tourism industry and the larger community.

    Founded in 1984, KCRA represents 10 properties along the Kohala Coast on Hawaii Island. Donoho has decades of experience in the industry, and previously served as the tourism specialist for the County of Hawaii before joining KCRA in 2014.

    Donoho said she was drawn to the organization after observing what she describes as a “disconnect” between tourism businesses and government processes.

    “I thought I could provide that conduit and that bridge between those groups,” she said.
