OCT/NOV training, convoy and hunting for Pōhakuloa Training Area (PTA)

PŌHAKULOA TRAINING AREA, HILO, HAWAII (September 29, 2022) —

TRAINING: On-going military training at Pōhakuloa Training Area may be heard by surrounding communities, and subject to change based on safety, weather and other environmental factors. Weather, such as overcast conditions can increase noise and vibrations. Should individuals hear noise, there is no immediate danger. For the community’s awareness, the planned training for October and November are as follows:
    • Joint Pacific Multi-Readiness Center Training is a large-scale exercise which includes convoys from Kawaihae Harbor to PTA; including Keamuku Maneuver Area.
    • Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) training can occur 24 hours a day, seven days a week on PTA in the restricted airspace.
The military appreciates the understanding and continued support of the community. While sometimes loud, this training is critical to ensure military units and service members are ready to accomplish their mission and return home safely. More details to come next month.

HUNTING: Oct. 8-9 from 0600-1730hrs: Humuula, Archery Mammal Ewe & Goat Hunt // No Lotto. Keep up-to-date on hunting at: https://pta.isportsman.net
