Hawaii Employers Council Offers Essential Workplace Skills Training on Hawaii Island
Four-Part Certificate Series Coming to Hilo and Kona This Fall
Honolulu, Hawai‘i | August 29, 2025 — The Hawaii Employers Council (HEC) is excited to
announce two special in-person training series coming to Hawaii Island this fall. The
"Essential Skills for Thriving in the Workplace" certificate program will be offered in Hilo on
Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, and in Kona on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025.
Each full-day workshop runs 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., includes a light breakfast and lunch, and
covers all four courses in HEC’s Essential Skills series in one day. The series is intended for
employees at all levels and provides participants with essential soft skills needed for
success in the workplace. Through interactive and practical courses, employees are
empowered to excel in their roles and contribute more effectively to their teams and
organizations.
“Employers tell us they need team members who can communicate clearly, problem-solve,
and work well with others. These sessions give Hawaii Island employees actionable skills
they can apply away,” said Leslie Gibo, Manager, Talent & Organizational Development at
HEC.
