• Volunteer Clean Up at Kauakaiakaola Heiau

    June 10, 2021
Last year the County purchased Puapuaa acreage on Ali‘i Drive in Kailua-Kona. They are moving forward with clearing the property and preserving the Kauakaiakaola Heiau.

3C Goat Grazing has had goats on the property and now with everything exposed they are asking for volunteers to help clean up the rubbish left by the homeless.

Local neighborhood watch members are organizing the property clean up

The Kauakaiakaola Heiau is among the most important historic and cultural sites in the state, along with other West Hawaii historic sites such as Keolanahihi, Mookini Heiau, and Puuhonua O Honaunau. The areas were the home of pre-contact era Hawaiians, and their preservation will enable people of Hawaii today to better understand the past.
