Kailua-Kona, HI —Lanihau Properties, LLC, is excited to announce Marissa Harman as its Vice President, Land Management and Real Estate Development. She will manage a complex portfolio of agricultural, conservation and commercial lands. Her responsibilities will include master planning, obtaining entitlements for property development, negotiating land use agreements and identifying acquisition and sales opportunities. She started on September 1.
“We are thrilled that Marissa will be joining us. Her breadth of strategic land planning and development experience in Hawaii is rare,” said Craven. “Her roots are on the neighbor islands and Marissa’s many skill sets have helped her to build meaningful relationships everywhere she’s worked,” said Lanihau Properties Board Chair Scott Craven.
Prior to joining Lanihau Properties, Harman spent 19 years at Kamehameha Schools in a variety of land planning roles including Director, Planning and Development; Director of Asset Management; Senior Asset Manager; and Land Assets and Operations Manager.
She previously was a Planner and Project Manager with PBR Hawaii and as a Planner with Wilson Okamoto.
“Marissa’s land planning background is impressive. During the interview process, it became apparent that we shared mutual interests of helping to shape the future of Hawaii Island by balancing economic growth while addressing the needs of our community,” said Scott Craven.
Harman has served on various boards and commissions including Hawaii Land Trust, Hawaii Leeward Planning Conference, Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, Hawaii Island Economic Development Board, County of Hawaii Real Property Tax Committee and Hawaii County’s Agriculture Advisory Commission.
A graduate of Kamehameha Schools Kapalama, and Kauai Community College, Harman was a Presidential Scholar while earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Hawaiian Preservation from the University of Hawaii, Manoa. She also earned a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Hawaii, Manoa.
