Luana Hospitality Group - Huggo & Shirley von Platen Luder Scholarship Foundation

About The Scholarship:
In 1969, Hugo & Shirley opened Huggo's on the Kailua-Kona shoreline. Since then, their son Eric and his partner, Scott Dodd, have expanded the kamaʻaina-owned and managed businesses.

It is their desire to mālama the communities and their staff that support them. 

As a result, they will be awarding 6 annual scholarships & 6 Chromebook laptops this year to inspire those who would like to continue their education.

Who Can Apply?
- High school seniors who will be continuing higher education/vocational training
- Luana Hospitality Group staff members/dependents who will be continuing higher education/vocational training

What Do I Need To Apply For The Scholarship?
- A completed filled out application (LINK)
- Copy of high school transcript
- 1-page letter describing your professional experiences/accomplishments
- 2 letters of professional/educational references

What Do I Need To Apply For A Chromebook Laptop?
- A completed filled out application (LINK)
- Copy of your high school transcript
- 1-page letter summarizing how a Chromebook Laptop will assist in completing your professional/career goals

How Will The Funds/Laptops Be Distributed?
One recipient per each High School:
$1,000 Kealakehe High School
$1,000 Konawaena High School
$1,000 Honokaʻa High School
$1,000 Kapaʻa High School

Two Luana Hospitality Group Recipients: 
$1,000 LHG Staff Member/Dependent
$1,000 LHG Staff Member/Dependent
