• Laros to Serve on Chamber Executives Association Board

    Wendy Laros, the President/CEO of the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, has been appointed to a two-year term on the Board of the Western Association of Chamber Executives (W.A.C.E.).
     
    W.A.C.E. is an association of chamber of commerce executives and staff professionals with approximately 828 members in 21 Western states and Canada. The association is designed to promote and enhance the professional development of chamber of commerce executives and is the largest state or regional chamber of commerce executives association in the United States.

    In 2022, Laros graduated from the W.A.C.E. Academy - a three-day (three-year) high quality summer program on chamber management essentials geared for today’s chamber executives and professional staff. It has become the leading training program totally devoted to chamber professional development in the West. Laros currently serves on the W.A.C.E. Academy Steering Committee. 

    Laros has also attended the W.A.C.E. annual conferences for several years and enjoyed serving on the conference planning committee for the most recent event in February 2023 in Sacramento, California.

    Laros states, "It's an honor and privilege to join the Board of Directors for W.A.C.E. I believe in the association's mission and really like the people involved. There's tremendous value in learning best practices in this industry and seeing with others are doing to help their communities."
