NETWORKING—Members of the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce started 2020 off on the right “foot” with a visit to Kona Sports Center located on Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway in the Honokohau area.

Attendees browsed the store’s wide selection of merchandise—including attractive shoes and sandals—activewear and gear designed to outfit customers for the adventure they crave.

“We started as a sporting goods store and have what you need for biking, camping, backpacking, running and ocean activities,” says Brad Weinmann, managing partner of Kona Sports Center. “We just became the isle’s sole distributor for Master Spas—known as the premiere line of American-made spas and hot tubs.”

Weinmann said Kona Sports Center also offers gear rentals and repairs. “We are a full-service repair center for bicycles—every brand,” he added. “We carry parts too.”

Kona Sports Center carries a wide range of brands: OluKai, Patagonia, Salomon, Trek, Oakley, Eureka!, Coola, Optic Nerve, On Running, Bontrager and more. Find sunscreen, hydro flasks, dry bags, nutritional needs and a full line of accessories. The store not only supplies individuals, but can also outfit teams.  “Just stop by and we can give your team a quote to meet your needs,” shares Weinmann.

Store employees awarded a box full of door prizes to lucky attendees; giveaways included towels, hats, shirts, running shoes and gift certificates. Every attendee received a microfiber neck gaiter, which protects the neck from the elements and can be worn a variety of different ways. Weinmann thanked store employees for setting up the event, including making all the tasty pupu.

Kona Sports Center is open daily, www.konasportscenter.com.
