KEAUHOU, HAWAI‘I (August 31, 2026) – Keauhou Community Day returns for its fourth year on
Saturday, Sept. 26, bringing the community together to mālama ʻāina, honor Keauhou’s cultural
heritage and care for the places that connect generations of people to this special place. Hosted
by Keauhou Shopping Center, the County of Hawai‘i, Clean Rewards, Miss Kona Coffee
Organization and Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha, the event combines hands-on stewardship, cultural
learning and a community pāʻina. Volunteers and families of all ages are invited to help care for
wahi kūpuna and natural resources while learning about the history and significance of
Keauhou.

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
WHERE: Ka‘ili‘ilinehe Park at Keauhou Bay and Keauhou Shopping Center
Former Miss Kona Coffee and Miss Hawai‘i Island Shyla Victor will lead a cleanup along sections
of Ali‘i Highway, while Kamehameha’s ʻĀina Pauahi team will lead stewardship efforts at
culturally significant sites, including Kamehameha III’s birthplace, Mo‘ikeha Cave, He‘eia Bay and
Ka‘ili‘ilinehe Park. Participants will help mālama these wahi kūpuna and natural resources,
collect ʻopala and support the health and resiliency of Keauhou’s land and seascape.
Launched in 2023 by Victor, Keauhou Community Day was founded on a simple idea: caring for
Keauhou is a shared kuleana. Each year, the event brings that commitment to life by creating
opportunities for people of all ages to mālama ʻāina, learn about Keauhou’s history and
strengthen their connection to the place and community.
“Keauhou Community Day is a powerful reminder that mālama ʻāina is something we do
together,” said Victor. “When people of all ages come together to care for Keauhou, learn its
stories and celebrate this community, we strengthen our connection to this place and to one
another. I’m grateful to everyone who continues to show up and make a difference for Keauhou
and future generations.”
The day will conclude with a community pāʻina featuring food, live music, entertainment and
keiki activities, providing an opportunity for participants and families to celebrate the day’s
work and enjoy time together.
Parking will be available at Keauhou Shopping Center, with shuttle service between the
shopping center and Ka‘ili‘ilinehe Park. Community members are encouraged to register by
Sept. 18, 2026, at keauhoushoppingcenter.com/events.
