Hawaii Island Humane Society (HIHS) is a private non-profit animal welfare organization on the island of Hawaii. Driven by our mission to prevent cruelty to animals, eliminate pet overpopulation, and enhance the bond between humans and animals, the dedicated and compassionate team at HIHS makes a difference in the lives of animals each and every day.

On Saturday, March 25, 2023, we are hosting the 25th Anniversary of our Tropical Paws fundraising benefit at the Four Seasons Hualalai. Every year, we rely on the success of this event to fund our lifesaving operations - and this year, we need your support now, more than ever. With your contribution, we can make this event a tremendous success for both animals in need and the people who love them. When you support HIHS, you help:

• Save the lives of over 97% of the dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs that come through our doors.
• Give the gift of new beginnings by providing veterinary care, behavior support, enrichment, nutrition, progressive low-barrier adoption counseling, transport, fostering, and so much more.
• Practice and implement Fear Free Sheltering, by focusing on the individual needs of each of our shelter animals.
• Maintain two humane, clean animal shelters, where community members — from keiki to kupuna — can visit, learn and connect.
• Provide hundreds of thousands of free meals through our Community Pet Pantry, for pets whose owners are experiencing financial hardship.
• Spay and neuter thousands of animals every year, to address the root cause of pet overpopulation.
• Preserve families by helping to keep healthy pets in loving homes.

With your support, we are able to invest in their needs so that they can each find the kind of love, comfort, and joy that they deserve. It is our greatest honor to make a positive impact in the lives of both people and animals. With your support, we can do even more.
