Hilo, HI – Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union (HCFCU) is proud to announce the promotion of Tysha McDonald to Hilo Branch Manager. Tysha, a valued member of the Hilo team since 2018, steps into the role previously held by Tyson Klask, who was recently appointed Vice President of Operations.

With more than 15 years of lending experience, Tysha brings a passion for helping members reach their financial goals. As a Loan Officer at the Hilo branch, she earned recognition as HCFCU’s 2022 Employee of the Year and built a reputation for her hands-on approach to leadership. Tysha is known for her approachable style, always ready to lend a hand or share her knowledge to support her team.

“I’m honored to lead the Hilo branch and continue building strong relationships with our members and community,” said Tysha McDonald. “HCFCU has been an incredible place to grow my career, and I’m excited to step into this new role and support the team as we serve East Hawai‘i.”

Tysha is also deeply involved in the community. She has been a Team Captain for the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Relay for Life since 2019, participated in the ACS Men Wear Pink campaign from 2020 to 2024, and served as a member of the Hawaii Credit Union League’s Big Island Chapter Young Professionals from 2021 to 2025. Tysha volunteers at numerous local events, including the Hilo Light Parade, Hawaii Island Realtors’ Home and Fair Expo, and Boo at the Zoo. Her professional certifications include Notary Public and NMLS credentials. When she’s not at the branch, Tysha enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

“We’re thrilled to see Tysha take on this leadership role,” said Tricia Buskirk, President and CEO of Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union. “Her expertise, dedication to member service, and passion for supporting our community are exactly what we strive for at HCFCU. We look forward to seeing the positive impact she’ll continue to make in East Hawai‘i.”
