HABITAT FOR HUMANITY HAWAII ISLAND RECEIVES GENEROUS DONATION FROM INTERFAITH COMMUNITIES IN ACTION

Hilo, Hawaii, March 17, 2023 – Habitat for Humanity Hawaii Island received a $11,960 check from Interfaith Communities in Action (ICIA). It was presented to Habitat's Family Service Manager Adrienne Eisele at ICIA's Spring 2023 Virtual Pilgrimage kick-off at Church of the Holy Apostles in Hilo.

Habitat is the first recipient of ICIA's signature fund, Hale Ka Po‘e Keiki (Homes for Children), to end family homelessness on Hawaii Island. In addition to the funds raised, ICIA creates volunteer opportunities for worshipers at its member congregations and all members of the community.

"We are grateful for ICIA's support of our work on the east-side of Hawaii Island and to be selected as a beneficiary of their signature fund again in 2023, " states Habitat's Executive Director Patrick Hurney. "The need is great and it is through community partnerships like this that we are able to continue our work to provide safe and affordable homes for Hawaii Island families."

You can help support ICIA's efforts by participating in their Spring 2023 Virtual Pilgrimage. For more information, go to www.interfaithhawaii.org.
