New initiative empowers local business to use AI in ways that grow our economy and expand opportunity while respecting community & culture.

Kailua-Kona, HI – September 17, 2025 – A new initiative launched on Hawai‘i Island to help small businesses embrace AI technology while staying rooted in our community values. alohastate.ai officially kicks off this fall with a three-part, free workshop series in Keauhou (Oct 15, 22, 29), offering hands-on guidance for business owners curious about how artificial intelligence can save them time and grow their bottom line. Future community workshops are slated for all neighboring islands.

“AI is often seen as intimidating, irrelevant or even dangerous to small businesses,” says founder Cindy Anne Molchany, a Hawai‘i-based business consultant and AI strategist. “But for local owners - from restaurants to tour companies to professional services - the right AI strategy can free up hours each week and open new opportunities. That’s why we created alohastate.ai: to bring grounded AI strategy home to Hawai‘i, and do it in a way that respects our culture and community.”
