• Aloha Theatre to Celebrate Its Legacy—and Look Ahead—at Annual “Aloha Broadway” Fundraiser

    KAINALIU, HAWAIʻI — For nearly 100 years, Aloha Theatre has been a home for entertainment, performing arts, education, and community on Hawaiʻi Island. On Sunday, September 27, the theatre will celebrate that history—and look toward the years ahead—at its annual fundraiser, Aloha Broadway, beginning at 2:30 p.m.

    The afternoon will take audiences on a musical journey through Aloha Theatre’s production history, with performances featuring songs from shows that have been part of the theatre’s story over the years. It will also celebrate the artists, volunteers, audiences, and supporters who have helped make the theatre a lasting part of the community.

    Aloha Broadway is also one of the first steps in Aloha Theatre’s Our Next 100 Years initiative, a long-term effort to care for the theatre and invest in its future as it approaches its 100th anniversary in 2032.
    Guests will have the opportunity to support that future through the event’s online silent auction, featuring experiences, adventures, and other unique finds. The auction opens Thursday, September 17, and anyone can participate—even if they can't attend Aloha Broadway or aren't on Hawaiʻi Island. Several exciting auction experiences are located on the mainland, making it easy to bid for yourself or share the auction with family and friends across the country.     The afternoon will also include the announcement of Aloha Theatre’s 2027 Mainstage Season, giving attendees an early look at what’s coming to the stage next year. Those attending Aloha Broadway will also receive special pricing on 2027 season tickets before they go on sale to the general public.

    Proceeds from Aloha Broadway support Aloha Theatre’s productions, education programs, facility improvements, and ongoing work to ensure that this community gathering place remains here for generations to come.
