Aloha Theatre Presents Seussical
Oh, the Thinks You Can Think! Seussical Brings Dr. Seuss’s Beloved Characters to Life on Stage
The Aloha Performing Arts Company proudly presents Seussical, the colorful, imaginative musical that brings together some of Dr. Seuss’s most beloved characters in a heartwarming story about friendship, loyalty, and the power of imagination. Performances run July 17 through August 2 at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu.
Based on the works of Dr. Seuss, Seussical follows Horton the Elephant as he discovers a tiny world living on a speck of dust and vows to protect the Whos of Whoville. Along the way, Horton faces ridicule and challenges while caring for an abandoned egg and defending the importance of believing in those who cannot always be seen. Guided by the mischievous Cat in the Hat, audiences are swept through a whimsical adventure featuring favorite characters from Horton Hears a Who!, Gertrude McFuzz, The Cat in the Hat, and more.
Directed by Kendall Haddock, Seussical features music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, the Tony Award-winning team behind Ragtime and Once on This Island. Filled with memorable songs, colorful storytelling, and larger-than-life characters, the musical celebrates the idea that every voice matters and that a person's a person, no matter how small.
The performers include Kiki Svechak-Kamalani (The Cat in the Hat), Kaya Moore (Jojo), Kevin Paredez Rodriguez (Horton the Elephant), Elena Barnreuther (Gertrude McFuzz), Maya Barnreuther (Mayzie La Bird), Taylor Deskin (Sour Kangaroo), Mila Powell (Little Kangaroo), Caleb Griffin (Mr. Mayor), Samantha Cook (Mrs. Mayor), Jeff Case (General Genghis Khan Schmitz), Lyric Bates (Bird Girl 1), Mikayla Winkler (Bird Girl 2), Mia Gildener (Bird Girl 3), Calvin Seipel (Wickersham Brother 1), Solara Solmes (Wickersham Brother 2), Alistair Delao (Wickersham Brother 3), Ash Millr (The Grinch/Fish 1), Leo Kazana (Cindy Lou Who), Jaia McCracken (Thing 1/Cadet 4), Maria Ahern (Thing 2/Cadet 5), Andros Hutchins (Judge Yertle the Turtle/Fish 3), Megan Garcia (Who/Fish 2), Lorie Jane Esteban (Who/Fish 4), Noelani Griffin (Who/Cadet 1), Lola Schneider (Who/Cadet 2), and Amelia Garcia (Who/Cadet 3).
