Adopt a Highway / Adopt the Blue w/ ODA Partner Kohala Divers

Time: 7:30am Adopt A Highway and 9:30am Adopt the Blue at Kawaihae SurfPark
Description: It's time for another ODA/Kohala Divers dual cleanup! You can do one cleanup or both. For the ocean cleanup, while divers are in the water, there will also be a beach/shore cleanup at the surfpark. Shore support greatly needed to pick up rubbish throughout the parking areas, sitting areas, and breakwall. Shore support will also be getting full rubbish bags from divers and replacing with empty ones.

• #1 Adopt A Highway - Arrival: 7:30am. Please arrive on time for a briefing, get vests and rubbish bags (all supplied).
  • Meet at Kohala Divers - see address below.
  • Gloves are required. We will have a limited number of gloves to loan, so if you have your own please bring them. (Also, available for purchase at the Kohala Diveshop).
  • Please wear closed-toed shoes if possible.
  • Hats and sunscreen highly recommended.
  • Long-sleeve sun shirts and pants recommended.
  • We will have waters if needed.
• #2 Adopt The Blue (blue and beach!) - Arrival: 9:30am: Please arrive early at the shop to get your tank and gear you may need. Briefing starts promptly at 9:30 am.
  • Meet up at Kawaihae Surfpark.
  • Shore support needed!
  • Gloves are required, if you have your own please bring them! We have a limited supply to loan. (Also, available for purchase at the Kohala Diveshop).
  • Weight yourself around 2 lbs heavier than you normally would as this is a very shallow dive!
  • Divers: Open Water Certification.
• Kohala Divers will provide a free tank for the event, rubbish collection bags, and a couple cutting tools (if you have your own please bring or purchase at the shop!).
