Kona Aloha Singers Announces Its Debut Performance
The Kona Aloha Singers, a New, Non-Profit Contemporary/Popular Music Chorus in Kailua-Kona, is excited to appear in their first public performance at 7:30 pm on May 11 at the Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel featuring Artistic Director Bernaldo Evangelista.
KAS will sing music from movies and Broadway hit shows including The Sound of Music, Mama Mia and Lord of the Rings. Plus some of your favorite Hawaiian songs and music from Queen, Elton John, Leonard Cohen, The Eagles, Enya, Dan Forrest and MORE! Attendees will enjoy hearing songs they are familiar with done with the beautiful blending of voices unique to choral music.
Bernardo Evangelista, both the Artistic Director and Accompanist for the chorus, is well known in our community for his work with music related programs and events. He teaches orchestra, band and drama at Kealekehe Middle School and has a BA in Education and a Masters Degree in Music Secondary Education. He is the Band Director for West Hawaii County Band and a Musician at the Ecumenical Church of Light. He can also be found working on shows with the Aloha Theatre and other music events. He was a Soloist for Honolulu Symphony Orchestra, and teaches private voice, piano and flute lessons.
