    KINGS' SHOPS CULTURAL FESTIVAL - SO. KOHALA

    Bring the whole family for a day of free entertainment, free activities and demonstrations showcasing Hawaiian culture. There will be kapa stamping, lauhala weaving, coconut frond weaving, info booths by Waikoloa Dry Forest Initiative, Hawaiʻi Wildlife Center, Hawaiian Cultural Center of Hāmākua, Hawaiʻi Pacific Parks Association and DLNR-DAR Marine Wildlife Program.

    Beginning at 10am, enjoy music of popular Hawaiian music group Waipuna, and Grammy award winners Kalani Pe'a, and Sonny Lim. The show will open with hula by Mana'olana O Kohala led by kumu Hope Keawe, accompanied by John Keawe.

    Scheduled activities include a 9am Guided Petroglyph Tour, 10am Basic Flower Lei Making, 12pm Introductory Hula Lessons, and 2pm Beginner 'Ukulele Lessons.
