• Shaping the Future of Hawai'i's Wastewater Infrastructure

    The County of Hawai‘i announces four initial public meetings with a hosted panel discussion to engage the community about the statewide 2050 cesspool closure deadline, strategic planning on the potential expansion of wastewater services, and wastewater management plans.

    The first meetings is Tuesday, February 13, in Kailua-Kona, and Thursday, February 15, in Hilo. The third and fourth meetings are scheduled February 27 in Na‘alehu and February 28 in Kapa‘au. All meetings are from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. – see the schedule below.
     
    After the draft Integrated Waste Management Plan is released, a second round of public meetings will be announced. All information is being posted to DEM’s website.
