• Important Message – Hawai'i Island Open for Business

    May 31, 2018
The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce acts as a reliable resource to visitors coming to Hawaiʻi Island. Currently, our staff fields dozens of calls and emails per day about the volcano. Our message is simple – Hawaiʻi Island is open for business.

Our Chamber is 500 members strong and each business member lists representatives that boosts our reach to 1,200 business leaders in our network. We are asking you, our members, to help us all by raising awareness that the island of Hawaiʻi is, in fact, open for business. We recommend joining a strategic social media support program launched by the Hawaiʻi Visitors & Convention Bureau and the Island of Hawaiʻi Visitors Bureau to highlight the breadth of opportunities the island has to offer while providing an accurate depiction of the recent volcanic activity as it relates to the rest of the island.

Whether a tour operator, restaurant, hotel, resort, or retail shop, it’s important to engage your social followers with visually appealing promotions that highlight the natural beauty of the island and/or your specific experience or product. Across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Snapchat, the campaign hashtags provided below will create momentum in this movement.

Hashtags include #ExploreIslandofHawaii and #VisitIslandofHawaii (within your accompanying social post copy).

For more information about this campaign, please contact the Chamber’s Communications and Marketing Coordinator, Suzi Patterson at marketing@kona-kohala.com or Island of Hawaiʻi Visitors Bureau at islandofhawaii@hvcb.org.

Please join us as we work together to spread our message that Hawaiʻi Island is open for business!

    Sincerely,
