The Chamber’s 13th Hawai‘i Island Living + Design Show which took place at the Sheraton’s Kaleiopapa Convention Center February 17-18, saw a great turnout of community members looking for products and services to improve their homes.
Best Creative Design was awarded to Mason Termite & Pest Control for best originality and use of products and visuals while integrating the show’s building and design theme. Booth judges were J. Porter DeVries, Chamber board chair, and 2017 Pualu Award winners Ron Aronson, for Lifetime Service and Pam Latinis for Chamber Member of the Year.
Vendor booths also vied for the People’s Choice Awards and Mason Termite & Pest Control won third place.
“We were excited and happy to win. We always try to have a pleasing and entertaining booth that is as interesting as possible,” said Tommy Mason, owner of Mason Termite & Pest Control. “The insects get a lot of attention and we try to bring as many live specimens as we can. That is definitely something different compared to the other products and offerings at the show. With our booth, we take everything to the limit, making it as tall as possible and as bright as possible to make it better and more fun.”
