Ke Kai Ola, The Marine Mammal Center Achieves Kuleana Green Business Designation

SUSTAINABILITY – The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce announces Ke Kai Ola, The Marine Mammal Center is designated as a Kuleana Green Business.

The Marine Mammal Center’s hospital and education center, Ke Kai Ola, is dedicated to the conservation of the endangered Hawaiian monk seal and their ocean home. Through rehabilitation and community outreach, The Marine Mammal Center is saving individual animals and inspiring community members, students and visitors to take action to protect Hawaiian monk seals and ocean health.

“The Marine Mammal Center is honored to receive the Kuleana Green Business Designation,” says Dr. Claire Simeone, director of Ke Kai Ola, the Center’s hospital and education center for Hawaiian monk seals. “We are guided and inspired by a shared vision of a healthy ocean for marine mammals and humans alike, which means we are committed to sustainable business practices in all areas of our work, from the hospital’s water filtration systems to the products we use in our classroom programs.”
