    Job Description
    JOB SUMMARY
    The Group Sales Manager (non-Asia) conducts proactive sales activities and promotions to identify and create business opportunities for groups with a minimum of ten rooms per night.  These activities include, but are not limited to, research, development and solicitation of new accounts, management of existing accounts, participation in Trade Shows and sales calls.    The position can be based remotely with the ability to travel easily to Hawaii and Oahu Islands for business needs.  This person must be active in the MICE market in the U.S. mainland.

    FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Demonstrating Leadership - Utilizing interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.  In this, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
       To aggressively Identify, solicit (personal sales calls, prospecting calls, and networking opportunities ) and book group business of 10+ rooms on peak night for the Kona resort.  
    • Create account and market strategies and implement those strategies to grow MICE business.
      Actively participate in the lead generation and referral program with the Outrigger Waikiki Collection Hotels.
    • Answer all leads within standard timelines and send subsequent proposals and contracts.
      Daily follow up on all leads, proposals and contracts.
    • Host site inspections and familiarization tours for tentative and potential groups for both local and inbound clients as required.
      Maintain all information and activities within the Sales & Catering System.
    • Host meal functions and entertain clients as appropriate.
      Supervision, including training and mentoring, of the Sales Co-coordinator.
    • Co-ordinate with other Departments when there is a responsibility overlap to ensure complete client satisfaction. 
      Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports and update action plans as required.
    • Attend Pre-Convention Meetings as required.
      All other duties as required and assigned.
