    Candidates Forum
    The public is invited to a nonpartisan, moderated candidate forum on Tuesday, July 3, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the West Hawaii Civic Center Council Chambers for the candidates for State Senate 3, West Hawaii.  The three candidates running in the Primary election are Democrats Brenda Ford and Dru Kanuha, and Libertarian Michael Last.
     
    The forum is sponsored by Community Forums and the Hawaii County League of Women Voters.    Questions will be taken from the public in advance at westhawaiiforum.org (via an online form), or email to info@communityforum.org,  or bring questions in person to the forum.  The moderator, who will pose all questions to the candidates,  will be Sherry Bracken, of Mahalo Broadcasting (LAVA 105.3 fm and KKOA 107.7 fm) and Hawaii Public Radio.    The forum will be streamed live at Facebook.com/westhawaiiforums  and also be filmed for later broadcast on NaLeo TV.  McDonald’s is generously providing coffee and snacks.   The League of Women Voters will have forms for voter registration, requests for absentee ballots, and change of address.
     
    There is also a moderated candidate forum on Tuesday, July 10, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the West Hawaii Civic Center Council Chambers for the candidates for County Council District 7 (Central Kona), the seat currently held by Council Member Dru Kanuha.  Those running for District 7 are Kelly Drysdale, Bronston Kalei Kossow, Cynthia Nazara, and Rebecca Shute-Villegas.
