Bring your ohana to this family-friendly event for an interstellar journey, right in Waimea town! Start the walk at Keck Observatory’s Headquarters, then travel through the solar system (actually Waimea) to CFHT’s offices, visiting all the planets along the way.
Travelers can begin the walk anytime after 10 a.m. Keiki 12 and under completing the walk will receive a coupon for free admission to `Imiloa Astronomy Center in Hilo. We also have other fun treats and surprises for all participating.
Last year’s costume contest was such a big hit that we’ve decided to bring it back! Meet at CFHT at 1 p.m. in your best costume. We’ll have prizes for:
Best Preschool
Best Elementary School
Age 11+
Best Space Costume
Best group costume
…plus a grand prize!
End the busy day with complimentary hot dog or hamburger hot off the grill. We hope to see you there!
