This year’s competition will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2015 at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa Convention Center.
Contestants will set up their entries starting at, judging to begin promptly at . Remember, no cooking is permitted and no electrical outlets are available in the Convention Center.
Professional chef judges will use a 40-point scale. Judges will award points to contestants in the following areas: Presentation and General Impression (5 points), Plate or Platter Design (5 points), Composition and Harmony of Ingredients (10 points), Correct Preparation and Craftsmanship (15 points), and Serving Method and Portions (5 points).
Since this unique competition focuses on Kona Coffee and other local products, judges will evaluate each contestant’s effective use of 100% Kona Coffee and other local products. They will also evaluate each contestant’s table decoration.
