Captain Zodiac Rafting Adventure was recently featured on ABC’s hit romance reality show, “The Bachelorette.” Jillian Harris and one of her “final two” bachelors experienced an exhilarating, high-speed ocean rafting ride along the Gold Coast of the Big Island, bringing them to a virtually inaccessible and remote black sand beach. The bachelorette and her companion also enjoyed additional adventures along the Kona and Kohala coast and Volcano National Park.

PRSA Taps Current Events for Kona Village Campaigns
The Hawaii chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA Hawaii) recently honored the best in public relations with its 26th annual PRSA Hawaii Koa Anvil Awards. From nearly 120 entries, a record 61 Koa Anvil and Hammer awards were presented to recognize excellence in both public relations programs and tactics.
Kona Village, represented by Current Events, received several awards. They recognized the resort’s “Green for Decades” public relations campaign, which promoted long-standing eco-practices; a repeat guest postcard campaign; a series of four postcards that played on the senses of smell, taste, touch and sight; and storytelling turndown cards.
Moss Advances to LEED Accredited Professional
Interior designer Susan J. Moss, president of Trans-Pacific Design in Kamuela, successfully completed the technical LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for New Construction exam from the U.S. Green Building Council. Moss advances to LEED Accredited Professional and is now able to work on LEED projects coordinating the certification process with the U.S. Green Building Council.
