Ke Ola Magazine :

A publication that positively reflects the beauty and rich heritage of the Kona-Kohala Coast and offers a showcase of island leaders, artists, culture, books, food, music and events. Ke Ola’s green attributes included having a low carbon-footprint because the operation is home-based, treating customers fairly and perpetuating Hawaii Island’s sustainability.

 

Dolphin Quest Hawaii :

Offers marine educational programs in-water at the Hilton Waikoloa, qualifies in part for its commitment to educating local school children in ocean literacy. It is also a LEED-certified facility, offers services and raises funds for the community, plus offers kama`aina and military discounts. Dolphin Quest is committed to a company-wide organizational planning and professional development, boasts numerous animal training awards, a comprehensive recycling and energy conservation program, and a green procurement preference.

 

Pacifica Skin Wellness Institute:

Pacific Skin Wellness Institute, a medical and cosmetic dermatology practice, qualified in part for its use of organic skin care products in ecological packaging, green interior design and efficient lighting, comprehensive recycling, extensive staff appreciation events, free community skin screenings, and a customer survey that is published and given to all patients. www.pacificaskinwellness.com

Shell Management Hawaii:

Provides timeshare and home association management, qualifies in part for its commitment to sponsoring, organizing, and donating to community organizations and events. It is committed to professional development and gathers employee and customer feedback. Programs in place include repeat guest incentives, a comprehensive wellness program, a “secret shopper” employee incentive program and  van pooling.  Shell Management practices energy and water conservation measures, has a PV installation at one of its properties, a green procurement policy and a company web page on environmental practices.

Hawai`i Forest & Trail:

A full-service printer, qualified in part for its commitment to recycled and sustainable papers, vegetable-based inks, a comprehensive recycling initiative, use of a four-day workweek, Forest Stewardship Council certification, discounts for non-profits, and its Best Workplace in America Award.
